The Governor’s Crime Commission is pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of Justice will be awarding year 2004 formula block grants to North Carolina. These funds will be available through a competitive grant process from the Governor’s Crime Commission.

Grant funds will be awarded to nonprofits, and local and state government agencies to start new and innovative programs that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the justice system, and enhance the quality of service to victims of crime in North Carolina. Pre-applications will be received in the four priority areas of: drug control and substance abuse; juvenile justice; information and technology; and victims’ services.

*All grant 2004 pre-applications must be submitted via the Governor’s Crime Commission’s website on the internet. Signature pages for the 2004 pre-applications must be received in the Governor’s Crime Commission office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2004.
